Boss OS-2 Overdrive/Distortion

Back with a second review!

The Boss OS-2 Overdrive/Distortion! This pedal is a great idea from the industrial Boss. So without further or do, ill get straight to the review. Big rhymes.

I started out with Boss pedals, theyre built like a brick shit house, and have some solid sounds. I have 5 other Boss pedals Boss whore

The pedal aims to provide both distortion and overdrive in a compact unit, with an awesome blend feature where you can have a mixture between the two settings, which gave me the sound I had been searching for.

4 knobs:
Level: Volume level of the pedal
Tone: Sound of the pedal
Drive: Amount of overdrive or distortion added
Colour: The blend control, from complete distortion, complete overdrive, and everything inbetween.

Pros
Colour: This blend feature is superb, offering a large array of sounds, my personal favourite being bang in the middle, with a little extra distortion, creating a high gain overdrive effect.

Tone: Yet another varied bag of tones, again fit for any personalised guitarist.

cost: I bought this from amazon a while ago £59.99, which is a massive bargain for anyone looking for a decent unit like this.

Cons
Drive: sometimes i find the drive levels are abit lacking. It doesnt really change past the 3oclock stage, i was hoping for a massive burst of gain.

Summary
This is a great pedal if youre looking for a personal, varied distortion/overdrive, adn will cater for those needs. A great cheap pedal for a rainy day.

Electro Harmonix Memory Toy: 8/10

A new feature to this blog, that ill be attempting, is short pedal reviews!
I waste a tonne of money on guitar effects pedals. Its a beloved hobby of mine.

So here we are,

Electro Harmonix Memory Toy.
Paid around £75 from Amazon.

First of all, i have another Electro Harmonix pedal, the cathedrel stereo reverb. They are an incredibly inventive company. Taking mainstream ideas and putting their own twists to them.

Memory Toy is an analog delay effect. Its a reissue and remake of the early Memory Man from donkeys days ago.

3 knobs:

Blend - Blends the dry signal and wet signal
Delay - Changes the time between delays
Feedback - Number of repeats

1 switch:
Mod - Adds a chorus effect to the delay signal

Pros
Value - you get a fair deal for the price. Many units similar to this cost above £100. The only difference in these, are preference and slight sound quality.

Sound - Very warm, clean sound, fantastic for soundscape, shoegaze, ambience etc.

Size - Compact and leaves alot of room on the pedal board.

Cons
Mod - I do not have a problem, but each pedal is different because of the circuitry. Ive seen a minority of people with over powerful mod volume levels, which is easily altered with a screwdriver.

Feedback - The only thing i do not like about this pedal is that the self oscillation isnt loud enough. Turning the feedback to max just leaves a warm repeat which dies eventually. Compared to other delays where the oscillation is louder.


Summary

All in all, i enjoy this pedal immensely and would recommend it to any one who wants to either add a nice analog delay or wants to start out with a delay.

But in more important news i finally got a haircut, which in turn made it look just as bad as the predecessor.

Just found out i can run Portal 2 on my laptop, must complete this fantastic game again!

So much more added since Portal, and even that was a huge success. One of the most unique and interesting games ive ever played. So much more invention to this game instead of

Sorry about that, in short, i had the smallest, of all mini helm's deep, palava in days, creepers just humping me into the floor like a tit.

Re-downloaded java kit & netbeans. Thought i need to practice java if i want to have any chance of becoming a programmer, designer etc.

But in other important news i just did a really eggy fart bro, smelt like tomatoes and egg. Damn.

The Game

Sweet sweet nugget of love, beansprouts, of all the natural wonders, they taste of water, yet taste so gracious and behold the definition of crunch. Damn dat hollaback shit was tasty.

Also, school was above average for the first day back, didnt dislike it at all.

Finally, ive been inundated with matter bending figures of 0 people asking for my identity, so for all you anxious bastards, and in the words of PJ and Duncan, lets get ready to rumble..
